This week I've chose 'All sewn up' by suzysoo.

"I've used the 'Pins and Needles' kit by Raspberry Road Designs plus a few extras I picked up along the way to make this layout. The haberdashery trend has been around for a while now and I just love the vibrant colours used by it's creator - Susan Darter. It makes such a change from the more muted'vintage' colours you usually see with this style of kit"

A Year In Review

I've made this for day 18 of the month of challenges.

I am pleased with how it's turned out as I've never done this sort of page before and it's really great to be able to remember a whole year in one page.

 It was simple to do - I layed the circled photos out how I wanted them, then added the top layer and punched out the holes over the pictures. Then added a shadow effect to the top layer material.

( If you fade the top layer so that it's transparent, you can see where to punch the holes ).

Then I made some stitched circles and added the text. 

I used a material from Pink Reptile Designs and some string bows from sahlin studio.

" I used elements from various kits, G&T Designs 'Painted', Daisytrail 'Everyday' & 'Isabel' for stitching plus one of the embroidery brushes in CAP2. Fonts - CF Anarchy & Smartypants BTN. Image is an old vintage one picked up along my blog travels. Lots of blends, filters and use of the transparency tool.

I've been crafting for about 5/6 years now - I started out with card making, had a particular interest in stamping and was lucky enough to have been on the design team for Crafters Companion, Stamp addicts and Tanda Stamps.

I discovered craft Artist in November 2012 and everything else has taken a back seat - the stamps are being sold off!

I love to scrap family photos and design and make hybrid cards. I have also developed an interest in photography and making digital art canvases"

Saturday Spotlight Wk 13

Welcome to the first Saturday Spotlight of 2014!

The page I've chosen this week is 'Sonya' by Natalia from Russia (romashka). I just love the simplicity of this. Sometimes less is definitely more. The colour matching is great too and that cat is adorable.

My Attempt at The Month of Challenges!

OK, So I've had another mad idea...

 I've taken on the challenge of doing a page every day through January.

The challenge is hosted by The Lily Pad and so far I have managed to do 2 days worth lol.

I thought I would post the pages as I go here ... but please bear in mind that my previous 'photo a day' project lasted only 10 days lol. 

Anyway, wish me luck :) x

Day 1 - Blind scrap. I had to scrap a page with a list of elements and instructions.

Day 2 - Art journalling. A subject I hate, but I gave it my best shot!
