Saturday Spotlight Wk 13

Welcome to the first Saturday Spotlight of 2014!

The page I've chosen this week is 'Sonya' by Natalia from Russia (romashka). I just love the simplicity of this. Sometimes less is definitely more. The colour matching is great too and that cat is adorable.

Natalia is new to Daisytrail and I am looking forward to seeing more of her work :)

My Attempt at The Month of Challenges!

OK, So I've had another mad idea...

 I've taken on the challenge of doing a page every day through January.

The challenge is hosted by The Lily Pad and so far I have managed to do 2 days worth lol.

I thought I would post the pages as I go here ... but please bear in mind that my previous 'photo a day' project lasted only 10 days lol. 

Anyway, wish me luck :) x

Day 1 - Blind scrap. I had to scrap a page with a list of elements and instructions.

Day 2 - Art journalling. A subject I hate, but I gave it my best shot!

Day 3 - Brushwork over a photo with a break to look realistic!

Day 4. Double page layout

Day 5 - Inspiration from a book cover

Day 6 - Freestyle clustered

Day 7. Wordart

First Page of 2014!

Happy New Year to everyone. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

My Christmas was busy, full of family gatherings and lots of fun. Sort of glad it's all over now though as feeling exhausted!

This page is one I've entered for a challenge at The Lily Pad 

The rules are to create a page every day throughout January with different criteria each day. I have no idea if I will manage a page every day, but it's fun to try lol

The swan picture was taken by Matt a couple of days ago. We'd gone to Arundel to do some geocaching only to find all the paths like this one - under water! It was a strange sight seeing the swan swimming down the path towards us and it was a perfect photo opportunity for Matt.

Kits used are Story teller by Just Jaimee and Heartbeat at my feet by One Little Bird.

Saturday Spotlight Wk 12

Welcome to The Saturday Spotlight!

This week's page is called 'Xmas in Australia and is by rachelbm (Barb). This is just so different, I absolutely love the LO and the B&W photo with just the red of Santa's suit picked out is great!

"This photo is of my grandson, his first time seeing Santa. As you can see, he just wanted to get back into Grandma's arms!

At christmas the rural fire brigade dress up as Santa and go around the streets getting donations to help with the bad fires Australia has in the summer.

The red on the page is fire, green is Australia and the yellow is the sun.

Kit is by Miss Vivi and is called 'Funky Town'.

I am 57 years old and a mum of 2.  And sad to say now a mum of one.

I have a beautiful grandson that I scrap all the time as you can see.

I come from New Zealand, I moved to Australia in 1981, after 4 years in New guinea.

I 've been scrapping for 8 years now and love it, have come 2nd in Brisbane scrapbooking expo for my work. Also had 4 of my pages published in Scrapbooking Memories magazine.

I now do S4H from home, for people who have lost loved ones".
